Happy Birthday Mr. Schlosser !!

The Black American artist we highlight today is Maya Angelou. She never went to college but she spoke 6 languages and received over 50 honorary degrees. She was an award-winning author and a civil rights activist. She was the first black woman to recite a poem at the inauguration of a United States President, in 1993. You can hear Maya Angelou speak for 2 minutes about how to be a rainbow in somebody’s cloud by clicking on the QR code on the display case.

A quote of hers is:

“Do the best you can until you know better.

Then when you know better, do better.”
