Notre Dame Academy is proud to announce that ten NDA students have been selected for the 2015 Kentucky Governor’s Schools Programs. The Kentucky Governor’s Scholars Program (GSP) recently announced that seven Notre Dame Academy students have been named Governor’s Scholars for 2015. Additionally, The Kentucky Center Governor’s School for the Arts (GSA) announced that two students from Notre Dame Academy have been accepted into the Kentucky Governor’s School for the Arts 2015 program and one student from Notre Dame Academy has been accepted into the Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs (GSE). A total of 8 NDA students were also selected as alternates in the three programs.
Notre Dame Academy juniors Courtney Blank, Mariah Bezold, Kirsten Richards, Kelsey Sucher, Lily Thaman, Emily Walter and Madeline Wermeling have all been selected to participate in the 2015 Governor’s Scholars Program. Carly Gross has been selected as an alternate.
Notre Dame Academy’s Lauren Darpel and Rikki Buchberger have been selected to participate in the 2015 Governor’s School for the Arts program. Amanda Sauer, Kaylan Frisch, Julia James, Andria Burden and Courtney Ziegelmeyer have all been selected as alternates.
Notre Dame Academy junior Kelly Schmahl has been selected to participate in the 2015 Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs. Kimmy Birrer and Audrey Field were selected as alternates.
The Governor’s Scholars Program is a six-week summer residential program that recognizes exceptional high school students in Kentucky. The program strives to enhance Kentucky’s next generation of civic and economic leaders. GSP provides academic and personal growth through the balance of a strong liberal arts program with a full co-curricular and residential life experience.
The Governor’s School for the Arts program is an intense three-week summer residential program for Kentucky’s finest young artists held on the campus of Transylvania University in Lexington. The students will have the opportunity to live in a supportive learning environment and study with a group of distinguished teaching artists while participating in the program.
The Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs is a three-week innovative and entrepreneurial experience for teens. GSE gives Kentucky’s young aspiring entrepreneurs a hands-on, experiential immersion into innovation and entrepreneurship in order to empower them to make a positive impact on their communities through innovation and to become business leaders of tomorrow.
