August 12, 2013, Notre Dame Academy will sponsor a very special presentation for parents of young women. Dr. Lisa Hinkelman founder and Executive Director of the ROX foundation (Ruling Our eXperiences) will present “What’s Going on for Girls and How We Can Help Them.” This engaging and interactive presentation is part of Notre Dame Academy’s century-long mission of educating and empowering young women to make a difference in the world. Beginning at 6:30 p.m. in NDA’s theater, Dr. Hinkelman will speak about the many issues girls and young women face in our modern world. She will address the important questions parents are asking about how to raise a successful young woman.
Dr. Hinkelman has done extensive research and written books and articles about girls’ issues. She is the author of Girls Without Limits: Helping Girls Achieve Healthy Relationships, Academic Success and Interpersonal Strength. Dr. Hinkelman will share her expertise on ways to help make girls successful in their school and personal lives. Dr. HInkelman will also speak to Notre Dame Academy’s incoming freshman class at their orientation on August 13, 2013. Dr. Hinkelman is including these two presentations as part of her visit to the Diocese of Covington to present an anti-bullying program to diocesan educators.
