On May 1, the Kentucky-Tennessee Water Environment Association identified Monica McFadden as the Kentucky winner of the Stockholm Junior Water Prize. She will represent the commonwealth at the U.S. competition in Portland, Oregon, on June 14 and 15. The Water Environment Federation sponsors the competition on the local, state, national and international levels in order to encourage young people to find solutions to the challenge of providing clean water on a global scale. Monica has been chosen as the Kentucky representative three of her four years of high school.
