Applications for Regional Youth Leadership (RYL) Class of 2023 are now open to current high school sophomores. RYL is leadership development program for high school students during their junior year. Approximately 45 students will be selected to participate in monthly sessions examining topics such as arts & culture, economic development, local government, and more.
The program will run from September 2022 through March 2023 with monthly sessions occurring during the school day. Each session is held at a different business or organization throughout the region and led by community and business leaders. Applications are accepted from students attending private, public, or home schools.
Eligibility – Applicants must:
- be a current high school sophomore with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- demonstrate leadership potential in their school and/or community.
- have an interest in furthering their knowledge about our region and community leadership.
- receive approval by guidance counselor or other school official.
Application Requirements:
- Complete the RYL application found at www.nkychamber.com/ryl by March 1, 2022. Applicants may choose to submit their application online or by downloading the paper application in MS Word.
- Obtain approval from one parent/guardian and designated school official. Online applications automatically generate approval forms to parents and school representatives via email. Students using the paper application must obtain required signatures before submitting their application.
- Pay the $10.00 non-refundable application fee. Checks can be made payable to Regional Youth Leadership. Online applications may submit fee using a credit card at the time of their application.
