Two Notre Dame Academy graduates have been selected for the prestigious Fulbright Scholars program. Carrie Benzinger ’07, who graduated this spring with a master’s degree in bioengineering from the University of Louisville, will conduct research on the treatment of right-side heart failure at R.W.T.H. Aachen University in Germany while Sarah Hugenberg ’08,who graduated in the spring with a political science degree from the University of Louisville, will teach English in Taiwan.
The Fulbright Scholars program is administered by the U.S. State Department and is named after the late U.S. Sen. J. William Fulbright, who sponsored the legislation to create the program. It aims to increase understanding around the world.
