Dear NDA Community,
My name is Shannon Wilson and I’m a senior at NDA. I am working on a project with LIFE Club and I need your help. In the club, we learn the value of all human life, whether that be before birth or during life. With this project, I am working to create awareness for all those who’s precious life has been affected by brain cancer.
For those of you who may not know my story, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the end of my freshman year at NDA. It was a complete surprise and I never thought anything as serious as cancer would effect me so directly, especially at such a young age. In summer 2012, I underwent a 13.5 hour surgery to save my life. l woke up ready to raise my voice. I’m ready to fight for an end to brain cancer.
For the past two years, I have attended the University of Cincinnati Walk Ahead for a Brain Tumor Cure. It is a 5K walk in which people from all over the area come together to support such a great cause. This year, I am looking to create an army of Pandas to help me and the countless others fight for a cure.
Here are the DETAILS:
When: Sunday, October 26 at 8:00 am
Where: Sawyer Point Park in Cincinnati
Who: YOU! (and feel free to bring friends or family)
Cost: It is a $35 individual registration fee. (However it is important to remember that 100% of your $35 dollars is a complete donation to UC Brain Tumor Center, which works to find a cure.)
Team name: Shannanagins (with your purchase of walk ticket, you will receive a free tshirt designed by Mr. Eckerle with our team name on it)

- click on “shannanagins” for the team name.
- fill out the information required
- proceed to checkout and choose form of payment (please remember that 100% of the $35 dollar fee is directly donated to tumor research)
- once registered, print out or take a screenshot of registration confirmation
To Get Your FREE t-shirt:
In order to get a free team T-shirt, please take your printed proof of registration to the office in the box that is marked “Team Shannanagins Walk for a Cure.”
Please place it in an envelope with your name on it. It is very important that somewhere either on the envelope or registration paper, you include the size of T-shirt that you would like and your name.
OR submit your proof electronically, by sending your proof of registration screenshot with the same information to wilsons@ndapandas.org and we will add your name to a list.
Registration confirmation is due either electronically or to the front office
