Notre Dame Academy’s class of 2016 invested over 600 service hours this school year learning first-hand that advocacy and philanthropy are valuable ways to contribute to the common good. For the third consecutive year, Notre Dame Academy has utilized Magnified Giving as its 12th grade service program. Teams of students volunteered at area non-profits and advocated for these non-profits to win a Magnified Giving grants of $1000. NDA seniors presented $1000 to Epic House a the Magnified Giving Annual awards ceremony. This non-profit helps area senior citizens who lack living family members to live in community. NDA senior Abby Schuh noted that this was the only non-profit dedicated to senior citizens that received a grant at the event. NDA’s runner-up organization, Pink Ribbon Girls was presented $517.
NDA senior Francie Case received special recognition at the Magnified Giving Awards Ceremony for exemplifying a philanthropic spirit through her volunteer work at The Point/Arc of Northern Kentucky. Francie received the Roger Grein Spirit of Philanthropy award along with eleven other Northern Kentucky students. Roger Grein is the founder of the Magnified Giving organization. Francie was also asked to speak at the event about her experiences with The Point.
