More than one hundred students from Notre Dame Academy (NDA) attended the 2019 March for Life in Washington D.C. this week. The annual March for Life, took place on Friday, January 18, at the National Mall in Washington D.C. This year’s event, marks the 46th anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision, which legalized abortion in the United States at the federal level.
Notre Dame Academy also held a prayer service at the school on Friday where members of the NDA community who did not attend the March for Life in Washington D.C. had the opportunity to come together and pray for the dignity of all life. The prayer service was led by several of NDA’s student peer ministers.
“One of the things we do as a Catholic school is promote the values of the Gospel through our actions in and out of the classroom,” said NDA President Dr. Laura Koehl. “This week we are especially mindful of the gift of life and pray as a community to respect all life from conception to natural death. As always, our NDA community will continue to work and pray for a world with greater respect for human life and a stronger commitment to justice and peace.”
