This week is Body Peace Week at NDA, where we talk about working towards feeling positive about our bodies and taking care of them in a healthy way. One way to help your daughter with this is to help them become savvy consumers of the media. The things we watch, images we see, and messages that come to us via media can often make us feel less than or not enough. Check out these tips for media self care from the National Eating Disorders Association. Talk over them with your daughter and pick one they think they can do and try it for the next week. Then follow up, and see if they’ve noticed a difference when they’ve been engaging in different behaviors.
